- Learners preparing for further study or career development
- Learners with little or no English proficiency are welcome
MEC offers English programmes for adult learners only. All applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Eligibility
Entry requirements
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 45 years
- Valid passport (international students)
- Basic academic background
- Compliance with Malaysian immigration regulations
International students must apply for a Student Pass through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).
Admission Process
How to apply
- Submit the application form
- Submit your passport / identity document and supporting documents
- Sit the English placement test
- Receive programme confirmation
- Student Pass processing through EMGS (international students)
- Arrival and registration
Placement test
All students take the English Placement Test on registration. It assesses:
- Listening
- Reading
- Grammar
- Writing
Based on the results, students are placed at Foundation, Elementary, Intermediate or Advanced level.
Attendance policy
- Students must maintain at least 80% attendance.
- Absences must be supported by a valid reason.
- Students with low attendance may be reported to EMGS as required by regulations.
- The attendance requirement applies to guided learning only. Self-study is voluntary.
Assessment & progression
Weekly quizzes, assignments, participation and a final examination. A minimum overall score of 60% is required to progress to the next level.
